Delete Your AquaSnap Account
Last updated: May 2, 2026
This page explains how to delete your AquaSnap account (operated by Polimati LLC) and what happens to your data when you do.
Option 1: Delete from inside the app (recommended)
If you can still open the app and sign in, this is the fastest way:
- Open AquaSnap on your device.
- Tap the Settings tab (bottom right).
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm in the dialog. Deletion is immediate.
You must be signed in with Apple or Google for this option to be available. If you have not signed in, your data lives only on your device under a local anonymous profile (no name, email, or other personally identifying information on our servers) — uninstalling the app removes that local data and severs any link to the anonymous identifier, which contains nothing that identifies you.
Option 2: Email request
If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete your account for you:
- Email: aquasnap@polimati.com
- Subject: "Delete my AquaSnap account"
- Include: the email address you used to sign in to AquaSnap (Apple Sign-In users: include the relay email shown in Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → AquaSnap).
We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, and typically within a few business days.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove the following from our servers:
- Your authentication account (Firebase Auth)
- Your subscription record on RevenueCat (the active subscription itself is managed by Apple/Google — see below)
- All feedback you've submitted, including any photos you opted into sharing with feedback
- Any temporary Deep Analysis uploads still in our processing queue (these are normally deleted within an hour anyway)
- Your usage and rate-limit counters
- For Apple Sign-In users: your "Sign in with Apple" grant is revoked at Apple, so AquaSnap will no longer appear in your Apple ID settings
Local data on your device — tanks, species, equipment, captures, notes, reminders — is wiped from the device when you complete in-app deletion, and is removed entirely if you uninstall the app. None of this data is on our servers in the first place.
What is retained, and why
- Transaction and billing records handled by Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not control these and cannot delete them. Refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics (event counts and feature-gate exposures) that cannot be tied back to you. These are retained per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
- Tax and accounting records related to subscriptions, where we are legally required to retain them.
Cancelling your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. To stop future charges:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → AquaSnap → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → AquaSnap → Cancel
Cancel your subscription before deleting your account if you want to avoid further charges.
